This story was even shorter than I expected and therefore didn't have much time for character development. It was well done, however, and well worth reading as a standalone. It might be more enjoyable to people who've read some of the other stories in the series.Product details

This sweet Christmas tale is a quick read that brought a smile to my lips. I have really od on Christmas stories this year some were not so great other like this one were a joy to read. This is the first book of Ms Daniels that I have read so I am looking forward to reading her other books. I give a 2 thumbs up for this one. Please note I received this book from instafreebies with the understanding that if I wished to review all comments would be welcome good or bad. If you have a chance I am sure you will enjoy Ms Daniels story.
A CHRISTMAS SECRET by Janelle Daniels is a very enjoyable and sweet historical romance short story. Historical romance is one of my favorite genres and this was delightful with insights into some customs and attitudes of the period. It also had the right amount of tension as two dear friends realized how much they love each other but were both afraid the other felt only friendship. I liked the characters and thought the author developed them well. I'd definitely recommend this story to historical romance fans. I received a copy of this book from the author and voluntarily chose to review it.
A sweet short story. This story was interesting due to the Christmas activities. The characters were unknown to me. They were okay. I suspect that they would have been more interesting had I read the rest of the series. You can read this book as a stand alone. It is clean. I have not read anything by this author before. I do have another book by her from another of her series. I plan to read that before, deciding on whether or not I like her or not. This series may warrant another look. You should give it a try for yourself.
I received a complementary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I knew this was a short story when I started to read it but it only took me a very few minutes from start to finish. No depth of characters or real story line. Because it was given to me. It seemed like perhaps I was reading a short chapter and the write was just getting started with a story that had not yet unfolded and it was over. Really strange. I wish I could say something nice, but I really can't and be honest.
I enjoyed Janelle Daniels' A CHRISTMAS SECRET. It's a short, quick read with the "I don't dare admit I love him/her because at least we have an excellent friendship" plot. I received this book free as a subscriber to the author's newsletter. I'm a fan of Ms. Daniels because she writes witty characters that know what they want, even if they don't know how to obtain it. It was so sweet watching Rosalie and Harry find one another with hope and happy anticipation as the best of friends risk precious friendship in case the other might love them in return. I loved this sentence "To be this close to her, to see the sparkle in her lively green eyes, to hear her voice, to divine glimpses of her soul as she spoke, was almost too much to bear." LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the 'divine glimpses of her soul as she spoke'. This short story is filled with such beautiful turns of phrase. Kudos, Ms. Daniels.
This was a fun short read. I thought it was a good uplifting story.
I loved how it started and how he got the couple's together without their knowledge about his manipulation of the pairing of couples. How she tried to avoid him anchor he wouldn't let her go. But most of all the surprise song for one special lady. Very good.
